Who & What We Are

Community House
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
"Founded in 1927, the facilities and grounds provide a gathering place for families,
community organizations, businesses, and visitors."

Who We Are

The Sanibel Community Association (SCA) operates “The Community House,” a place that not only serves as an event location but also offers rentable space.  Read more about the SCA.

SCA is about Sanibel history. One of the first non-profits on Sanibel, "The Community House" was also one of the first public event places outside of school and church.

The land upon which the SCA sits was donated by one of Sanibel's original residents, Cordie Nutt.  "The Community House" located on Periwinkle Way was built in 1927.  The Sanibel Community Association was incorporated in 1928.   "The Community House", located in the heart of Sanibel Island, is the meeting place for Island civic and social events.
