The “Red Grapes of the World” class starts with class discussion on the basics of how wine is made and how to taste it; answering the most frequently asked questions that will help most in learning about wine and how to buy it.
The class provides the participants with an introduction to understanding the
major grape varieties and where they are grown in the world. The second class in the series focuses on the major types of red grapes grown throughout the world, where they originated and where they grow best. Although the wine classes follow in a series, they are designed to be fun and informative regardless of the order in which they are taken or topics discussed.
This particular class will explore the following main areas:
1) The Red Wines of Burgundy and the Rhône Valley
2) The Red Wines of Bordeaux
3) The Red Wines of California
Cheese and light hors d/Oeuvres will also be presented to complement the wine selections.
