Carefully designed use of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), mudra, insightful philosophy, meditation, & guided relaxation techniques synthesize this therapeutic class for a safe yet effective yoga experience. Learn and refine key actions to develop greater awareness of postural fundamentals, precise alignments & efficient use of the breath for this full-spectrum experience that will gently re-unite the body/mind systems. Find & feel peace, ease, strength, steadiness and energy rejuvenation within a harmonized body/mind connection and deepen your understanding of yoga as the ultimate holistic lifestyle.

Dr. Susan Pataky (Sanibel Yoga) has been teaching yoga on Sanibel & Captiva for 15yrs and throughout the Northeast since 1979. She has a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine (N.D.) and is a member of the IAYT(International Association of Yoga Therapists). Her yoga studio was located on Palm Ridge Rd. Her classes at SCA are held Tuesday’s and Thursday’s 10am & 11:15am.

Melt body/mind stress away with the ease, simplicity & beauty with this GENTLE yogic healing system created by Dr. Susan Pataky. Utilizing a free-form meditative approach we’ll focus on relaxing into the deepest layers of the body to help us return to a state of peace & calm. Every class is unique and geared exclusively for the participants in attendance. Class may include both active as well as restorative asanas as well as other modalities which help reduce stress, improve energy levels, mood, posture, strength, and mobility.  Experience harmonization of  body, mind & heart while circulating and balancing  life force energy (Chi/Prana). This is a Therapeutic Yoga class.*
 
*Students who have physical limitations due to injury or illness or other special challenges benefit greatly from this class.
