Being informed and prepared is the key to empowerment!
Bill Behrens, a retired violent crimes police detective with twenty-nine years of law enforcement experience, has made countless presentations pertaining to an "Active Shooter Situation". His police career was in and around the metropolitan Chicago area and primarily focused on the investigation, apprehension and prosecution of violent crimes perpetrators.
His presentation focuses on WHAT TO DO if you are involved in or in close proximity to an active shooter, or other violent situations involving a knife, club, or fight. These types of incidents are occurring at an alarmingly increasing rate and can happen to anyone, at anyplace...in the workplace, at the shopping mall, places of worship, schools, etc. The majority of occurrences happen during daylight hours.
For us, average members of our community, knowledge of how to respond and what to do is of utmost importance. Potential exposure extends to any and all portions of our everyday lives, and the information could be invaluable to us where ever we happen to be.
