Wednesday, March 4, 2020

SANIBEL, Fla. — The 83rd annual Shell Festival is returning to Sanibel on Mar. 5-7.

The popular attraction showcases one-of-a-kind art crafted from shells.

This year, organizers say it will also feature a mermaids crown made entirely of precious metals and jewels.

The festival’s exhibits are known for it’s unique art made of shells from Southwest Florida and all over the world.

The event will be located at the Sanibel Community House and offer a variety of shell art, crafts, books, as well as a selection of food vendors.

Wednesday morning, Fox 4 is getting a look behind doors before the shell art is judged.
