2nd Annual Cooking with the Islands’ Stars Approaches, Chefs Announced

Saturday, January 28 – 6 pm
 
The brand new Sanibel Community House will be the perfect site for our 2nd annual Cooking with the Islands’ Stars! Newly chosen family chefs will entertain you with their special recipes while you get to witness the first major event showcasing the new features of your House.
 
The evening begins with appetizers supplied by eight of the best restaurants on the islands. The four family chefs will then take the main stage. You’ll see some very exciting dishes prepared by Sharon Schuyler, Fred & Mary Bondurant, Calli Johnson and Mike Billheimer. Voting for your favorite personality starts now and continues through to intermission. Also, culinary delights will be auctioned off before you sample decadent desserts prepared by our own Kitchen Guild.
 
Enjoy this multimedia presentation as four local family chef’s share their stories, briefly demonstrate how to prepare their signature dish, & share recipes. Vote with your donation dollars for your favorite family chef before or during the evening. All proceeds benefit the Culinary Education Center which provides classes, children’s programs, demonstrations, kitchen garden techniques, pots and pans, etc. The ‘farm to table’ movement is the focus of our 900 sq. ft. kitchen and its educational programming so help us stock the pantry!
 
There are two prize winners: People’s Choice (dependent on your monetary donations) and Judges Choice (three fun and accomplished judges will taste and comment on the family chefs cooking). Both winners will receive a trip for two to the Ft Lauderdale area where they will work in a well-known chef’s kitchen and be treated to gourmet meals.
 
Admission is $100. A very limited number of tickets with priority seating and samples from the family chefs are $200.
