Artists on Display: June

Artist Bios

Anita Force Marshall is a local Sanibel artist who resides year-round on the island. She enjoys incorporating vibrant colors, whimsy, and a different point of view in her watercolors and hopes her paintings reflect her happy island life.

She studied drawing at the Pine Castle Art Center in Pine Castle Florida. Locally she has taken classes with Bea Pappas and workshops with Pat Weaver. Presently she enjoys knowledge and guidance from her artistic mentor Anne Gates Yarnall and continues to study watercolor and collage. She paints weekly with the San Cap Art Plein Aire Painters all around the islands. Her watercolors and collages have been displayed locally and on the Florida Watercolor Society online show. She also displays at the SCAL Art on the Veranda at Baileys General Store each year during the season. She is President of the San Cap Art League.

She hopes to bring a smile your way with her whimsical point of view as she interprets the islands many treasures. She lives, writes, and paints with her husband Bob on Sanibel Island, Florida.

Bob Marshall is a local Sanibel artist who resides year-round on the island. He enjoys the complexity of Zen Tangle and its form of expression from start to finish with Pen & Ink.

His interest in drawing started in his childhood and teen years. After college and a career as a Sales Manager in Orlando, he and his wife Anita moved to SWF. This move took him into a new career as a chef and back to perfecting his love for drawing.

He is a member of the San Cap Art League. His drawings have been displayed locally on Sanibel and Captiva. He also displays at the SCAL Art on the Veranda at Bailey's General Store each year during the season.

His passion for cooking and art keeps him busy. He hopes you will enjoy his humorous and artful look at the islands where he finds inspiration everywhere.

Anita Force Marshall:

I have fine-tuned my palette to reflect my life on Sanibel and always enjoy reactions from people who love my use of tropical colors

I am part of the San Cap Art League Plein Aires Painters, so most of my art reflects scenes from all over the islands with a whole lotta of whimsy.

Bob Marshall:

I really enjoy Pen & Ink because the process puts me in another time and place.

I continue to experiment and develop with new styles and techniques.

I hope my art makes you smile and wonder.
